Design Gozzo_ Free standing bathtub

 

The name of this bathtub underlines the already evident inspiration from the classic shape of the typical Italian maritime vessel called Gozzo.

The shapes are both squat yet elegant, awkward and sinuous.

​

While the hull becomes stone, a sort of fossilization of the permanent status of this form, the edges remain in wood and the typically maritime metal details underline the stylistic homage to this iconic ship.

This bathtub wants to transport us to the most classic, most essential Mediterranean, made of fishing and transport of goods, of effort and richness of the sea and nature, but also of stories and myths according to which this sea has shaped our Western culture over the millennia.
